Bitumen Heating
Bitumen Trace Heating Pipework
Cross Electrical (Nottingham) Ltd specialise in the design, installation and maintenance of bitumen trace heating systems for storage, handling and processing facilities throughout the UK and overseas.
Having successfully installed Trace Heating systems for a broad range of applications to the industry, we offer a complete service regarding the trace heating of handling and processing Bitumen in its liquid state.
Bitumen Trace Heating
System Design
Liaising with all clients, we listen closely to their individual requirements, offering practical advice regarding the temperature control of pipework, intended for the management
and handling of liquid Bitumen.
Our design engineers understand the importance of supplying a reliable, safe and maintenance free temperature control system. One that comprises heating cable, thermal insulation and temperature controllers to ensure Bitumen can flow freely at all times, without solidifying or blocking the pipework between storage vessels and delivery points.
Next day delivery service
For those clients with established Bitumen processing facilities, we offer a next day delivery service, providing fully terminated trace heating units from our range of XSSTC, heavy duty stainless steel sheathed heating cables.
Alternatively we offer our standard range of XSS/SC stainless steel sheathed heating cables or our XCN/SC cupro-nickel sheathed heating cables.
These fully terminated heating units can be installed by the client’s own pre-approved engineers.
At Cross Electrical (Nottingham) Ltd, we aim to deliver newly designed or replacement heating units on a next day service whenever possible.
Bitumen Heating Cables
XSSTC
Mineral Insulated Stainless Steel Sheathed Twin Conductor Heating Cable
For maintaining temperatures up to 500°C, short to medium length heating circuits, maximum withstand temperature 1000°C (power off).
XSS
Mineral Insulated Stainless Steel Sheathed Single Conductor Heating Cable
For maintaining temperature up to 500°C medium to long length heating circuits, maximum withstand temperature 1000°C (power off), approved for use in hazardous areas.
XCN
Mineral Insulated Cupro Nickel Sheathed Single Conductor Heating Cable
For maintaining temperatures up to 250°C medium to long heating circuits, maximum withstand temperature 400°C (power off), approved for use in hazardous areas.
Bitumen Trace Heating Installation Service
To provide a ‘bespoke’ design and safe bitumen trace heating solution, each and every system would be installed to the current industry standards by highly trained and qualified installation engineers, providing both national and international coverage, including project management and site supervision.
Our engineers complete on-site installations in a varied range of environments, including bitumen storage plants and sites of a similar nature.
All heating systems are installed to the strictest of standards, with full adherence to applicable health and safety requirements and quality assurance legislation.
Maintenance & Breakdown
Regardless of system provider or installer, the team at Cross Electrical (Nottingham) Ltd offer price competitive maintenance packages to all customers.
The planned, preventative maintenance of trace heating systems helps to maintain the efficient handling and storage of Bitumen at a controlled temperature, in all environments and weather conditions.
Should system failure occur, production may grind to a halt costing valuable downtime and lost production, Cross Electrical (Nottingham) Ltd can provide a responsive service to restore the system through either repair or replacement bitumen trace heating units.
At Cross Electrical (Nottingham) Ltd, we take great pride in the number of Bitumen trace heating contracts acquired through positive “word of mouth” and customer recommendation.
