Hopper Heating
Electrostatic Precipitators, Fabric Filters, Ceramic Filters.
The free flow of product from delivery and weigh hoppers is a fundamental requirement for designers.
Hopper Surface Heating Systems maintain elevated temperatures above moisture and acid dew points .
Heated hoppers are installed within air pollution control equipment.
Widely used in the power generation industry and filtration manufacturers.
Collection hoppers and Precipitators come in many different forms and in order for them to work efficiently the walls are heated to allow their contents to flow freely out of the chute at the base of the hopper.
Cross Electrical (Nottingham) Ltd have been providing the industry with high quality hopper heating grid systems for over 40 years.
We consider ourselves to be the leading design and installation company in the UK having installed reliable and trusted heating solutions to the major manufactures of hoppers units and filtration equipment.
Combined with our unique installation procedures ensuring longevity of service and a range of heating cables that have proven reliability we are confident that our method of hopper heating serves the industry well and we know they stand the test of time.
Our design team calculates and provides practical information on the following:
- Heat required in watts per square metre to be applied to the surface of the hopper or filter.
- Supply voltages from 110 to 480 volt.
- The required thickness and recommended type of thermal insulation.
- Local temperature controls, remote control panels incorporating mechanical or electronic controllers
- Location of junction boxes and control cabinets for ease of maintenance.
We also ‘supply only’ bespoke fully terminated heating elements to our UK and overseas clients as and when required.
